‘The Young And The Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers show that Michelle Stafford (Phyllis Summers) got “fact-checked” on Instagram and she was not happy about it. She shared a photo and circled the statement she received that said, “Your post contains the same information as a post independent fact-checkers say is partly false. WE’ve added a notice to your post.”
One fan asked what the original post was that got flagged, but we’re still unsure exactly. Though, we can assume it had something to do with Martin Luther King Jr. day yesterday, as there were millions of posts about his legacy. Take a look at her post below that she uploaded with the following caption,
“Independent fact checkers” who the hell is that?? Who? Let’s all be better than these guys… it won’t be hard.”

Fans commented on the post, “I want to know who’s CHECKING THE FACT CHECKERS! 😂”, “If the narrative doesn’t fit with the majority then this is the result.”, “I don’t even think they are the majority, they are just the social media tyrants in control.”, “Yes please! I’m sure these are the same ones that Fb finally admitted are actually “opinions”.”, “The same happened to me on one of my posts!! So much BS!”, and “Is this their way of trying to cancel a man who fought for freedom and peace amongst all people all colors?”
Fact-checking on social media has become so arbitrary and there’s never any context as to what the “fact check” is calling out.
