‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) and Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) are freaked out about their baby Aria Porter-Copeland (Maddie and Millie Ingle). Something may be wrong, and the new parents aren’t really handling it all that well. Will they be able to cope?
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Parenting Challenges
It isn’t easy to be a parent. Tessa and Mariah are finding this out. There has been a steep learning curve and they are always second guessing themselves.
They rely on a lot of support and encouragement from Mariah’s mother, Sharon Newman Rosales (Sharon Case). She often has wisdom to share so that they can learn and make the best decision for their child.
They are worried now though. Something is “off” and they aren’t sure what to think of it. They are concerned that Aria may have a problem with her hearing.
A bolt of thunder startles Mariah and Tessa, but Aria doesn’t respond. Also, when they say her name, she doesn’t have a response to the sound. This is really concerning to them, and they don’t know what to do.
Sharon recommends that they go get Aria’s hearing testing. Then they will know what they are facing and how to best help their little girl. This freaks them out too because they don’t want to have to deal with something so serious, but it is true that they need to make sure to get her help if she needs it.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Roll with the Punches
What Mariah and Tessa are going to learn through this is that parents have to roll with the punches. There are surprises every day and there are situations that parents aren’t going to know how to handle.
Children aren’t born with an instruction manual about how to raise them and make the best decisions for them. Parenting is a learn as you go situation and one that people fail at. Mistakes will be made, and parents have to learn how to recognize their mistakes and try to correct them.
Some situations with children are beyond the parent’s control as well. If Aria is deaf, it is not because of anything that Mariah and Tessa did or didn’t do. They can’t blame themselves, but just have to learn to adapt and help their child.
