‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers reveals that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) may have royally screwed things up for his fiancé Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters).
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Withering Behind Bars
Jack feels a lot of concern for Diane because she doesn’t want to see him or her family anymore. It is too emotionally challenging for her to keep seeing them. She knows that the evidence against her for the murder of Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) must be good, so she is facing a long time in the slammer.
It is really hard for her to keep up hope and to keep dealing with incredible sadness every time she sees Jack or their son, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor). She feels that it would be better if she just emotionally pretended that she had no other life outside the walls of the prison.
Jack is really worried about the state of her mental health. He also knows she is innocent but has to do a lot of work to prove that. Whatever Jeremy Stark (James Hyde) planted on her is pretty solid. He wants to do whatever it takes to get her out.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Money Talks
Christine Blair Williams (Lauralee Bell) hears what Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) has to say about believing that Jeremy Stark is really responsible, but the evidence they have is fairly incriminating against Dianne. They can’t even find Stark (because he’s dead), but they can see he took half of Phyllis’ money.
In talking with Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc), Christine points out that she needs to follow the letter of the law. Rich and famous people can’t just buy their way out of jail or out of charges. She wants to be certain that doesn’t happen. Christine believed Diane is a substantial flight risk because of that very reason. She knew Jack would pay whatever it takes to free Diane.
When Jack comes barging into Crimson Lights, demanding that Michael secure a new bail hearing with the judge, Christine’s feelings are confirmed and solidified. He talks about paying anything it takes to get Diane out. This will just increase Christine’s resolve to keep that from happening.
Did Jack just ruin all of Diane’s chances to get fair treatment? Did he just make it more difficult to get any sympathy or understanding from Christine? What do you think?
