‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers confirm that Conner Floyd’s last airdate as Chance Chancellor was today, July 28th.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Floyd Says “That’s The Way Chance Would Want To Go Out”
Violence, murder, and mayhem were abundant on Cane Ashby’s (Billy Flynn) private estate in France. First, Damian Kane (Jermaine Rivers) was killed.
Then, we discovered that the person responsible was Cane’s creepy assistant, Carter (Vincent Stalba), who attempted to take Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) hostage when Cane intervened.

Carter was just about to shoot Cane when suddenly, in a heroic twist, Chance dived for the gun and got shot protecting Cane’s life.
The detective’s dramatic exit came as no surprise. Conner Floyd is replacing Billy Flynn as Chad DiMera on Days of Our Lives.
Floyd was interviewed by TV Insider and said,
“As sad as it is, I think that’s the way Chance would want to go out.”
He continued,
“That’s the story that he’s always been telling. That he’s a hero. And the ultimate person to put everybody above himself, so I think it’s a little poetic, in a way.”
Floyd added,
“And the way I died in Billy Flynn’s arms is also very poetic.”
Of course, the actor is referring to how he’s going to take Flynn’s place in the land of Salem.
He also pointed out,
“I think Josh Griffith did that on purpose.”
Josh Griffith, of course, is the Y&R executive producer and head writer.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Working On Y&R Would Have Made His Grandmothers Proud
Overall, Floyd said it was a good experience working at Y&R. He cited how surreal it was to have shared scenes with soap legends like Eric Braden, who plays Victor Newman, Peter Bergman, who plays Jack Abbott, and Melody Thomas Scott, who plays Nikki Newman.

“I know my grandmothers are rolling around in their graves right now,”
He joked.
“I wish they could have been here to get a little piece of that, but it’s really cool just to be part of the soap world,”
Conner gushed.
“It’s a unique place for an artist, and I feel like I came out of this a little better of an actor than when I first started,”
He shared.
Floyd admitted that he cried on his last day at Y&R. Interestingly, Billy Flynn encouraged him to let it out and told Floyd that he cried on his last day at Days of Our Lives.
Floyd also spoke about his new gig as Chad DiMera on DOOL.
“The DiMera family is really cool, and the more I dig into it, this character has a lot to unpack.”
The actor added,
“I was really, really excited to dive deep into Chad and explore this world that he’s in.”
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Conner Floyd Is About To Set Foot In The Land Of Salem
“Days of Our Lives is an iconic show.”
He praised.
“And a lot of really talented people have walked those stages, Billy Flynn included, so it’s going to be fun to try to fill those shoes.”
Fans won’t see Floyd on Days until early 2026. Days films that far in advance. Floyd noted how he felt welcomed on the set of Days. He plans to do right by Billy Flynn and Chad DiMera.
“I’ve hit the ground running, and it’s been going great so far.”
He said,
“Just like Y&R, everyone over there is very hardworking, and there’s a very talented cast and crew, and I’m going to bring it for them.”
Chance comes from a legacy Y&R family, and his presence on the show will be missed. That said, we can’t wait to see Conner Floyd in Salem soon.
