‘The Young And The Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers suggest that Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) has become so sick of Summer Newman’s (Allison Lanier) interference in her relationship with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and may have someone new on her radar.
‘The Young And The Restless’ Spoilers: Claire Has Taken A Backseat To Summer At Times
While Claire isn’t the cheating type, she’s bound to misinterpret signals between Summer and Kyle at some point. Clearly, Summer wants Kyle back.
Despite Claire’s wholesomeness, she’s proven she isn’t exactly a doormat. She stood up to her grandfather, Victor Newman (Eric Braden), and defended her romance with Kyle.
Claire has had times where she’s taken a backseat to Summer when it came to her and Kyle parenting Harrison Abbott (Redding Munsell).
She’s not going to put up with being sidelined forever. When Claire met Holden Novak (Nathan Owens) at the bar at GCAC, there were sparks.
Claire went to the bar to “live dangerously” and ordered a martini, but Holden talked her into trying a Vesper instead.
The two of them bonded over drinks as they sat at the bar together. However, Kyle wasn’t pleased to see her warming up to the handsome stranger, especially after Summer snidely commented, “It looks like Claire has a new friend.”
Summer was just trying to cause trouble between Kyle and Claire, but maybe she had a point. Claire seemed flattered by Holden’s attention and genuinely enjoyed their casual banter.
Summer interrupted Claire’s date with Kyle to supposedly help Harrison, as she insisted the situation was urgent, but it obviously wasn’t.
Summer feigned concern that Harrison might hear from one of his classmates about his grandmother, Phyllis Newman (Michelle Stafford), going missing, which was a perplexing excuse to drag Kyle away from Claire.
‘The Young And The Restless’ Spoilers: Holden May Move In On Claire While Kyle Is Distracted
Claire knew that Summer was playing her, which is why she chose to stay at the bar and wait for Kyle. She knew it was a pathetic attempt to steal Kyle away.
Kyle seemed jealous of Claire and Holden’s interaction at the bar, which may have worked to Summer’s advantage. She may have succeeded in planting the idea in Kyle’s mind that Claire could be interested in another man.
What if Claire and Holden spend more time together while Summer’s busy working with Kyle? Maybe she and Holden share a lip-lock due to Claire’s exhaustion over Summer, which always interferes with her and Kyle. Plus, Holden is attractive.
It’s not hard to imagine these two attractive people being drawn to each other. There is potential for soapy drama to ensue if Kyle happens to witness this forbidden kiss.
Summer will use any angle she can to keep Kyle and Claire apart. She’s not even above using her son, Harrison, to drive a wedge between the young couple. If Kyle confides in Summer about what he saw, she’ll plant even more doubts about Claire into his mind.
Kyle may even feel threatened enough by Holden to confront him and warn him to stay away from his woman.
It makes us wonder why Y&R decided to show scenes between Holden and Claire. Could Holden move in on Claire while Kyle is distracted by Summer?
