‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers indicate that Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) will soon discover that Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) has made a play for Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor).
‘The Young And The Restless’ Spoilers: Kyle And Claire Are Star-Crossed Lovers
Summer and Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) recently discussed the status of their relationship and decided to move forward with their romance.
However, as 2025 gets underway, Summer will find herself wanting Kyle back. Head writer and administrative producer Josh Griffith was recently interviewed by TV Insider and shared his interpretation of what Kyle and Claire’s journey will look like as their relationship progresses.
Griffith said that Kyle and Claire’s love story as star-crossed lovers is not unlike Romeo and Juliet. As their tale unfolds, viewers will see them face several challenges, one of them being Summer.
Summer will try to facilitate a reunion between her, Kyle, and Harrison Abbott (Redding Munsell), as she wants her family back. Summer’s mind will be on her ex-husband, Kyle, and she’s not above scheming to get her man back.
Claire is the “good girl” in the scenario. She was even a virgin before she and Kyle slept together. Claire is more kindhearted and steady compared to Summer, so she’ll definitely have some competition.
Kyle and Claire’s warring families will also cause trouble for the young couple. Summer will take advantage of the never-ending Newman-Abbot feud to snatch up Kyle.
Victor Newman (Eric Braden), who will also be a killjoy in Kyle and Claire’s courtship, would rather Claire be with anyone except an Abbott. He has never approved of her and Kyle together. Meanwhile, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) is concerned about the potential repercussions of Kyle and Claire dating.
‘The Young And The Restless’ Spoilers: Summer Will “Pull A Phyllis” And Plant A Kiss On Kyle
We must wonder if Summer is simply allowing her jealousy of Claire to get to her. Summer isn’t too thrilled about Claire’s relationship with Harrison and that her son loves spending time with Claire.
She sees how close Claire, Kyle, and Harrison have become and doesn’t like it. Summer possesses more of her mother, Phyllis Newman’s (Michelle Stafford) tenacity and ruthlessness than anyone knows.
Summer could try to steal a smooch from Kyle, and he may briefly reciprocate, which might make Claire think Kyle wants Summer back.
Spoilers indicate that Summer will “pull a Phyllis” and plant a juicy kiss on Kyle. That’s what Phyllis did to come between Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian) and Christine Blair (Lauralee Bell).
Of course, Danny chooses his true love, Christine, in the end, but we’ll see if the same outcome occurs with Kyle and Claire. Is the lure of Kyle’s ex and the family he shared with Summer enough to drive Kyle away from Claire?
Spoilers also infer that Summer will pull out all the stops to separate Kyle and Claire and may use some unfortunate information to distract Kyle from Claire.
Claire is too sweet to blame either party, but she may pull away from Kyle if she thinks he still loves Summer.
Whatever happens, spoilers reveal that Summer will follow in Phyllis’s footsteps and make a play for Kyle. Whether or not he reciprocates is yet to be determined.
