‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers indicates that Lauren Fenmore (Tracey Bregman) and Michael Baldwin (Christan LeBlanc) are on shaky ground right now. Will their marriage be able to survive this latest trial?

Lauren has been broken by the ‘death’ of her best friend, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford). She has felt gutted by the fact that her friend was taken from her in such a sudden and terrible way.
Lauren is still upset by the fact that she didn’t have the opportunity to say “goodbye” to Phyllis. She didn’t get to tell Phyllis how thankful she was for their friendship. She has felt the desire to tell her friend things but can’t pick up the phone and call.
Michael and Phyllis were good friends too. When Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) begged for Michael’s help when his fiancé Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) was arrested, Michael declines. He wanted to remain loyal to his best friend.
‘The Young the Restless’ Spoilers: Surprise Decision
Lauren has been shocked and hurt by Michael. He decided to represent Diane in her case. Lauren just can’t understand that because it goes against their best friend Phyllis, and it hurts Lauren too.
She believes that Michael took this on just because of his ego. Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Nikki Newman (Melody Scott Thomas) both told Michael he couldn’t take this case. They both put some pressure on him to avoid it. Lauren believes he took it because he couldn’t let them give him orders.
Lauren tells Michael that she does love him, but this is painful for her. If in fact he manages to get Diane off for this murder, then she may not be able to look at him anymore. It may be the end for them if he succeeds in doing what he was hired to do.
Michael for his part wants justice for both Diane and for Phyllis. He doesn’t believe that Diane is responsible, but he also wants whoever is responsible to pay. However, he seems kind of shocked to see his marriage on this precipice. Did he not expect that Lauren would be furious? What do you think? Will their marriage survive this case?
