‘The Young And The Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers show that there are seemingly no good parents in Genoa City. Now, before you gun after me, I’ve been a new viewer for a little over a year now. So! I wasn’t around for the golden era of ‘The Young and the Restless’, but in the last year, I’ve seen… about… ZERO good parents on the show.

Every single parent on the show, from Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) to Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) to Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) seem to not care about their children’s wellbeing, let them loose at a young age, and then act surprised when their kids get into shenanigans. And before you go off about Victor, I get it, he loves Adam Newman (Mark Grossman), now…

‘The Young And The Restless’ Spoilers: Are There Any Decent Parents In Genoa City?

Sharon and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) have been my favorite example of this lately (more so Sharon) but everything they do is just so dumb… From not parenting their children, to letting them go off and do whatever, then when they do something dumb, they instantly want to throw them in therapy.

Here’s an idea, quit caring about yourself and your exes so much, focus on your damn children, and maybe don’t let a therapist be their “parent” to teach them right from wrong. I mean, I feel like I’m taking crazy pills every time I listen to Sharon ask Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind) “how this could have happened.” Are you kidding me?

Of course, this is a soap opera, so I suppose there wouldn’t be any drama if this weren’t true, but good lord, do all the parents have to be dumb and dense as hell?

What do you think? Am I just rambling or does any of this make sense? Let us know in the comments below.
