‘The Young And The Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers show that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), and the rest of the cast are looking to move on with their lives soon and not want to be entangled in the day-to-day drama of Genoa City (except maybe Phyllis Summers [Michelle Stafford]).
The time is coming upon us, especially after watching the 50th-anniversary episode of the show, that it will need to be passed down to the next generation shortly, and we have been wondering who could carry the show once the likes of Victor and Jack are gone.

While people like Adam Newman (Mark Grossman), Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle), and Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) come to mind, we have to also acknowledge that they have grown up with the show and are not the young people they once were.
This led us to people like Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) and the likes of Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) and Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway). But, do they really have the presence and ability to carry an entire show and will they be able to have meaningful and interesting storylines?
Honestly… I don’t know. I am beginning to get a little concerned about the future of the show as I’m not sure I see a lot of potential in these characters. They don’t grab us the same way the older ones do…
Just look at Phyllis, she’s been a 17-year-old high school for decades! Summer is already maturing past her! And with maturity, there is not much room for drama and excitement! If we leave the future to Kyle and his generation, what stories do we have to look forward to and would people even continue to watch?
