Just because they do it all the time, it doesn’t mean others can. In other words, Buckingham Palace wants to make sure only their side of the story is told through royal media courtiers, and no one else’s.
Apparently, the Windsors are still incredibly salty that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are playing the exact same game they have been playing for years now, and that’s give bits and pieces of what is going on behind closed doors at Buckingham Palace to the press and nothing else. Here’s what you need to know.
According to the Daily Beast, the British Royal Family are none too pleased over the fact that Omid Scobie – a royal author who is close to both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle – wrote in Harper’s Bazaar that Meghan Markle had not one but two conversations with Queen Elizabeth, both before and after Prince Philip’s funeral.
The Windsors Are Still Incredibly Salty About ‘Leakers’ Prince Harry And Meghan Markle
Apparently, this is not part of the narrative that the Windsors want out there and that’s why they are being so salty about Harry and Meghan’s leaks to the press.
Tom Skypes puts it this way, “Scobie’s report in Harper’s Bazaar which also included a detail that Harry met the queen privately twice could also irritate some senior courtiers. The leaks could be interpreted to suggest that Meghan and Harry are briefing journalists about private conversations with the queen to make themselves look good.”
What’s more, the royal family doesn’t want someone like Gayle King telling the world that the royal family’s private conversations were “unproductive” like she did back in March.
Royal author Dan Wootton put it this way on Twitter, “There is much pain and hurt on both sides, so this reconciliation will take place in baby steps. First, they need to decide on some ground rules as to how they conduct business going forward in a way that makes all parties feel safe and protected.”
