Prince Harry might be Queen Elizabeth’s favorite grandson, but in this instance she can’t help but side with his older brother Prince William.
There’s a new report that says Queen Elizabeth has turned on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle due to her disappointment over the couple’s decision to air out their dirty laundry to the world in their interview with Oprah Winfrey back in March. Here’s what you need to know.
While Queen Elizabeth has always supported Harry and Meghan, she is none too pleased over the fact that the Sussexes managed to throw the entire royal family under the bus in less than two hours during their sit down with Oprah.
Queen Elizabeth Is Siding With Prince William In His Feud With Prince Harry
An insider told MailOnline columnist Dan Wootton: “The Queen has made it clear to senior advisers that she is united with Charles and William, and was disappointed with aspects of Harry and Meghan’s interview.”
And while Prince Harry did reportedly meet with Prince Charles and Prince William, it will take a long time to repair the rift between them and of course, get things back to the way things were, and before Meghan Markle entered the picture.
What’s more, sources say that Charles and William only agreed to talk to Harry with a witness in the room because they were worries that a twisted account of what was said might leak to the press. In other words, the royal family doesn’t want someone like Gayle King telling the world that the royal family’s private conversations were “unproductive” like she did back in March.
Wootton added, “There is much pain and hurt on both sides, so this reconciliation will take place in baby steps. First, they need to decide on some ground rules as to how they conduct business going forward in a way that makes all parties feel safe and protected.”
Meanwhile, it’s been reported that Prince Harry has already returned to California, even though earlier reports suggested that he was going to stay in the UK for his grandmother Queen Elizabeth’s 95th birthday.
