For all of those who were hoping for a family reunion at Prince Philip’s funeral, you might not want to bed on it. That’s because things are still so bad between Prince William and Prince Harry that they won’t even walk or sit beside one another at their grandfather’s funeral service on Saturday. Here’s what you need to know.
According to reports, Harry and William’s cousin Peter Phillips, son of Princess Anne, will walk between them during the funeral’s entry procession into St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle, a statement from Buckingham Palace said.
During a second procession, William, 38, and Peter, 43, will walk shoulder to shoulder, followed by Harry, 36, and David Armstrong-Jones, 59, the son of Princess Margaret and Antony Armstrong-Jones.
Things Are Still Really Bad Between Prince William And Prince Harry
Once inside the chapel, they won’t be getting much closer, as attendees will be seated six feet apart, as per COVID-19 guidelines.
Of course, a lot of people are saddened over the fact that William and Harry are feuding, seeing how they were once so close while growing up as brothers.
Royal expert and commentator Dan Wooten even wrote on Twitter, “How sad that Prince William and Prince Harry will not walk shoulder to shoulder in procession behind Prince Philip’s coffin. No one ever imagined relations between the brothers getting this bad.”
Of course, it didn’t take very long for many royal fans and critics alike to comment on the situation with, “Harry can’t be trusted and there lies the issue no matter what happens at the funeral. Wills can’t talk to his Brother as Meghan will hear and she passes on to sources who leak to the press. I wouldn’t say anything him either, probably couldn’t even stand near him,” along with, “It’s sad but understandable. Why would PW want to be walking alongside his brother now. There’s no trust anymore and it’s not fair to put anyone in that situation. Heavens know what GK would be talking about on her show the next day.”
Another critic said, “I guess William just cannot stomach the stab in the front from his brother when their grandfather was ill in hospital. Difficult one to forgive when one side is so unrepentant and reports every conversation to the press.”
