While there’s no doubt that the majority of the royal family want nothing to do with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle seeing how they managed to throw everyone under the bus, it looks like they can’t really live with or without them, either.
In fact, there’s a new report that says the British Royal Family is certainly missing the star power that Harry and Meghan provided while they were still full-time working royals. Here’s what you need to know.
Clearly, things just haven’t been the same ever since Harry and Meghan pulled the plug on their working relationship with the royal family.
The Royal Family Needs Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Back For ‘Star Power’
And while they’ve certainly made a lot of headlines for airing out some of the royal family’s dirty laundry, the monarchy’s reputation has been damaged by the couple’s allegations of racism, especially for a lot of people of the younger generation in the UK.
Ayesha Hazarika, a journalist and former political advisor, told CBS This Morning in an interview that the royal family is desperately missing Harry and Meghan‘s star power, for better or for worse.
“William and Kate are really being pushed to the fore in terms of publicity, particularly Kate Middleton,” said Hazarika. “I think what the PR machine behind the royal family is trying to do is turn William and Kate into the new Meghan and Harry. They’re trying to make them a bit sort of rock star-like.”
That might also be one of the reasons why the royal family is trying to make Kate Middleton into the next royal rock star.
“Harry and Meghan were very, very popular and they sucked up an awful lot of the oxygen,” said Jonny Dymond, a royal correspondent for BBC News. “And so, with them off the scene, there is certainly more attention paid to William and Kate.”
CBS This Morning also pointed out that while the vast majority of British citizens still support the monarchy, younger people are much more sympathetic to Harry and Meghan.
