The royal family has seen better years than 2023. It started with Prince Harry’s “Spare” and ended with Omid Scobie’s “Endgame.”
The New Year is a time for new beginnings, and King Charles may feel it is time to bury the hatchet with Harry and Meghan.
Charles and The Royal Family May Forgive Harry
Charles is a very understanding and forgiving man, and stranger things have happened. There may be a royal reconciliation in the works.
The King forgave Sarah Ferguson and invited her to Christmas with the royal family. It was suggested that if Charles could forgive “Fergie” for her transgressions, he may be able to forgive Harry for his.
Fergie made a royal comeback while Harry and Meghan were at their California home in Montecito with Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, and some friends.
The only caveat may be that Harry must make the first move. If he apologized to King Charles for his behavior and was genuinely remorseful, the monarch would probably welcome him back with open arms.
Of course, there would be conditions. King Charles is only ready to forgive Harry if it is on his terms. That means no more tell-all books, no more media tours, and no more badmouthing the royals.
It’s not just King Charles who has excluded the Sussexes; the Duke and Duchess have also excluded the royal family from their private family events.
Harry and Meghan’s little girl, Lilibet, was christened in a small ceremony at their Montecito home earlier this year.
However, King Charles and Queen Camilla, in addition to Prince William and Princess Kate, were not at the baptism ceremony.
Maybe Harry Will Be with Charles Next Christmas
In his book, “Endgame,” Omid Scobie claimed that the King and Queen, Prince William and Princess Kate, turned down their invitations to the blessed event.
Princess Diana’s sisters, Lady Jane and Lady Sarah, attended. While much of the royal family disowned Harry, his aunts and uncle, Earl Spencer, have been there for him.
The King’s coronation was another royal family event, but the royals made it a point to separate Harry from the rest of them. He sat in the back while the rest of the family were in the front.
It was uncomfortable for everyone involved. Meghan did not attend the coronation. Scobie claims she stayed behind due to her son, Prince Archie’s birthday.
Prince Harry’s body language at the coronation demonstrated that he was “trying to protect himself. He kept his head down and appeared to be very guarded. He did not come onto the balcony with the rest of his family.
Prince William kissed his father at the coronation and pledged his loyalty to him. As Harry watched, it was apparent he longed to be with them, but because of the negativity between them, it wasn’t in the cards that day.
The royals have not spoken much with Harry since “Spare” was released.
However, King Charles and Harry did speak on King Charles’ birthday in November. That was an encouraging sign until Omid Scobie reignited the “royal racist” row in the Dutch version of “Endgame.”
Hopefully, Harry and Charles can work out their differences and spend next Christmas together as a family.
