Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has been hard at work on his new Netflix film. They’ve taken all the special precautions they can to stay safe during COVID-19, and it looks to be running smoothly. Well, The Rock likes to take a walk around the sound stage greeting crew before work.
On this day, in particular, he met Ryan, who was wearing a shirt that read, “The American Dream, Son of a plumber”. This stood out to The Rock and he told the man, “Not many people know the real meaning of these words”. Ryan Reynolds said back, “No sir, but we do”.
The exchange was detailed in The Rock’s Instagram post, which you can see below.

Every morning I walk on our massive sound stage, greeting our crew and getting ready for work.
This shirt caught my eye, so I walked over and said, “Not many people know the real meaning of these words” as I pointed to his shirt.
He nodded and said, “No sir, but we do”
I gave him a ?? and said “That guy was one of my heroes – you’re a good man”.

The Rock Recognizes “The American Dream” – Gives A PA Special Shoutout
Several people commented on the post with their gratitude and excitement for The Rock to sit down and speak with people around the set. It’s important to remember we’re all just people, including The Rock! “Hello my name is Commitment. You may know my good friend Success.
