Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is set to produce a documentary about the USF football players that were lost at sea. In 2013, Johnson was cast in a film titled, “Not Without Hope”, where he would have starred as Nick Schuyler, who survived 43 hours in the Gulf of Mexico after being capsized.
However, somewhere in production, the film was halted and Johnson went on to do other films and projects. Though, it seems like he hasn’t forgotten about the film.
In a new film, Miles Teller (Whiplash, 21 & Over) will star as Schuyler and the film is being executive produced by Super Bowl-winning quarterback Russell Wilson and Grammy winner Ciara. This seems to have gotten Johnson’s attention, and he has announced that he will be producing a separate documentary about Schuyler’s experience.
Titled ‘Four Down’, Johnson’s production company ‘Seven Bucks Productions’ will help to bring his story to screen.

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Set To Produce Documentary About The USF Players Lost At Sea
Rick French, Schuyler’s producer for the documentary said,
“The documentary gives us the opportunity to invite friends and family of Marquis, Corey and Will to share their stories in first person, as well as interview members of the USCG, who are the real heroes of this tragedy,”
Schuyler’s story is one of horror and the will to live. In 2009, he went for a fishing trip with four friends, former USF football players, and two Oakland Raider players near Clearwater Pass. However, the boat they were on flipped over 75 miles from shore. In Schuyler’s book, he writes how his friends disappeared in the waves one by one.
