Prince William and Kate Middleton’s St. Andrew’s love story is a literal fairy tale. The two of them started as good friends and had a lot in common.
Kate Never Boasted About Dating A Prince
Little did they know they were destined to embark on one of the most prominent royal love stories in modern history.
Interestingly, their Vice Chancellor, Brian Lang, explained to his audience during a speech that St. Andrews University is “Britain’s top matchmaking university.”
Insiders reveal that Kate is one of the kindest and most modest people on earth. Even though she nabbed herself a Prince, who was at the time an eligible and sought-after bachelor, she never boasted.
“Willsmania,” as it had been dubbed, was no joke. Young women threw themselves at William. The media and teenage girls adored him.
It was reported that Prince William’s decision to enroll at St. Andrew’s University significantly increased student applications.
Princess Catherine and William both majored in art history. However, William later switched to geography. Apparently, Kate was always insecure and very shy.
During the couple’s engagement interview, Kate admitted that the first time she met William, she felt very nervous. However, the two of them forged a strong bond.
Kate was always willing to provide William with a sympathetic ear when he spoke about feeling homesick. She quickly joined his group of friends and often ate breakfast with William before classes.
William and Kate also had a lot in common. Both enjoyed outdoor sports like rugby and tennis. William was impressed that Kate was so athletic.
At the time, both Kate and William were dating other people, but they had only considered each other close confidants.

For a charity fashion show, Kate wore a sexy sheer black dress by designer Charlotte Todd. It is now referred to as THE dress that caught the prince’s eye. He saw her strut in this little ensemble and exclaimed to one of his buddies, “Wow, Kate’s hot!”
That was the moment everything changed between them. That night, they were seen having a couple of drinks and smooching.
At their college graduation, William’s family was present. They included the late Queen, the late Prince Philip, and, of course, his father, Charles, and Camilla.
Kate’s parents, Michael and Carole Middleton, were also present. Some wondered if Kate and William’s relationship would continue after college.
The couple’s families sensed their relationship was headed toward a crossroads. No one expected it to become what it is today.
They endured a rocky road. William and Kate broke up twice throughout their relationship. It was Kate who would make William see that she was the one.
William proposed to Kate with his mother, Princess Diana’s ring, at a remote log cabin in Mount Kenya in Africa. The future Queen eagerly said yes.
The royal couple were married at Westminster Abbey on April 29, 2011. They now share three beautiful children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

What went on between them and their family years later was the actual test, as Kate would go through a cancer diagnosis, treatment, and recovery.
It’s a lot to face, especially under the public eye’s scrutiny. But William never left his wife’s side. That’s the true testament of real love.
