The most damaging claim Omid Scobie made about Kate Middleton was that she was a “Stepford wife.” However, that couldn’t be further from the truth.
Prince William and Kate Middleton Met at St. Andrews University
Back in 2002, Willam and Kate were both attending St. Andrews University. They became close friends. They were both athletic and outdoorsy and had a lot in common.
Kate had also been a sounding board for William, who was struggling with whether to remain at the university. William trusted her, and Kate was a good listener and dependable friend.
Then, the school put on a charity fashion show called “The Art of Seduction.”
Kate took to the catwalk to model a sheer strapless mini dress with royal blue trim playfully layered over black underwear, looking very much unlike the “Stepford wife” Scobie describes.
That’s when William realized he had more than platonic feelings for his future wife and Princess. The dress Kate wore was said to be auctioned off at a whopping $125,000 later on. The dress cemented Kate as a style icon.
From that point on, the two of them embarked on a romantic journey.
William and Kate dated for eight years. The couple got engaged in October 2010 after William proposed to Kate while on vacation in Kenya.
He slid Princess Diana’s beautiful engagement ring onto her finger. The ring is a 12-carat oval sapphire surrounded by white gold with sparkling diamonds.
In November 2010, the couple revealed their engagement. In April 2011, they had a lavish fairytale wedding, and she became the Duchess of Cambridge. The Westminster Abbey wedding was televised and watched by millions.
“The Crown” is Depicting the Beginning of Kate and William’s Relationship
The beginning of William and Kate’s relationship is being featured on “The Crown.” Actress Meg Bellamy plays Kate Middleton, and designers recreated Kate’s eye-popping look.
Netflix will release the final six episodes of “The Crown” starting December 14th. It will introduce Meg Bellamy as Kate Middleton and Ed McVey, who plays Prince William. Netflix teased a clip of William and Kate’s first kiss, also depicted in the historical soap opera.
Meg Bellamy landed the role of Kate and posted this message on Instagram,
“It is such an honor to be joining the most incredible cast and crew, and I will strive to do Kate justice.”
Omid Scobie’s book, “Endgame,” came out on November 28th, and he made some nasty remarks about Kate. He called her a “Stepford wife” and compared her to Meghan Markle.
He said that Kate
“isn’t known for leadership and outgoing nature like Meghan.”
Scobie declares Kate is “cold,” even though she is well-liked and admired.
Kate is far from a Stepford wife, as she has taken her role as the Princess of Wales to heart. She is a confident public speaker who lends a loving, helping hand to needy children. She is a strong mental health advocate and supports those who are struggling.
Kate has unwavering devotion to her husband, children, and the Commonwealth. But that does not make her a Stepford wife. It makes her an extraordinary humanitarian and all-around human being.
