However, scenes of John Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) were paired with Eric’s big party at the Forrester mansion. Li Finnegan (Naomi Matsuda) could not pry information out of her adopted son. However, the only woman he considers his mother could not see what the audience did.

Eric collapsed for the second consecutive week-ending episode. This time, instead of being along with Donna Logan (Jennifer Gareis), he was surrounded by family and friends and would not bounce back like he did last week.

Add to the above, all of the guests having grouped or stand-alone moments with Eric at his intended grand farewell. TPTB were creating an exit option in the script. Would it be possible to take it?

How could Eric make it through the party when he was increasingly dependent on oxygen in the days leading up to his party?

There were some moments when McCook’s character was woozy. His coughing spells were also in play, but no blood was expelled.

Kudos to all involved for the crescendo, where Eric learned Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) won the fashion challenge. The twist had him do a three-hundred-and-sixty-degree turn, looking at the crowd. But instead of being angry, Eric told his son it was the nicest thing anyone ever did for him. Then he collapsed to the floor with everyone peering down in collective shock.

Finn was not only spending time researching, but he was well positioned. Hardcore soap fans recognized the setup.

Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) repeatedly texted her husband, wondering why he was not at the party. Finn usually would have been by his love’s side or left work after receiving Steffy’s first text.

However, Finn needed to be at the hospital to respond to Eric’s arrival. If, as seems plausible, Novlan’s character was working on a remedy for Eric’s terminal illness, then his efforts will soon go into effect.

Yet, fans can wonder if McCook’s character will have his life saved or extended. Rather than a definitive outcome, more options may be ahead on B&B.
