Hope has been lusting over Thomas for a while. Since he returned to Forrester Creations to work on the line, Hope for the Future, he has changed. He is focused on his work and on being responsible in his relationships. This has been really attractive to Hope.
It is almost as if she needs to be the center of attention. Now that he is not obsessed with her, she is pursuing that interest again. She is having a hard time getting him out of her mind and is saying things and looking at him in ways that have piqued his interest.

On a business trip with Thomas to San Francisco, Hope expresses to Thomas that she doesn’t want to turn out like her mother. Brooke Logan Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang) has had some tumultuous relationships because she has pursued whatever man she has had interest in at any time.
She has never denied herself, even if people got hurt.
Hope doesn’t want to be like her mother. She believes she has standards and morals. She wants to stay faithful to her husband, Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) but she is fighting her feelings for Thomas.
When she admits this to him, that she doesn’t want to be like her mother, it kind of throws him for a loop. He is curious about why she is talking this way. It has a meaning.
Because of this conversation and their moments of touching hands and looks after hugging, Thomas is starting to think of Hope in the same way that she is thinking about him. This means they are probably heading down a path that they will regret.
