‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ (B&B) spoilers document that dealing with a terminal illness is stressful for the patient and his loved ones. However, Eric Forrester (John McCook) was diagnosed correctly and realized an effective treatment.
The cutting-edge experimental cell transplant surgery John Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) performed saved Eric’s life. But the status of his recovery remains questionable.
For now, Eric is alive, and everyone is grateful. But Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) is apprehensive about his father’s quality of life.
‘Bold And The Beautiful’ Spoilers – Donna Logan Has Her Honey Bear
Everyone was stunned twice. Donna Logan (Jennifer Gareis) was overjoyed when learning that Finn had found a treatment for Eric’s condition.
However, she and the Forrester family were stunned again when Ridge initially rejected Finn’s offer. Why would Kaye’s character not want to try to save Eric?
Ridge’s logic made sense in retrospect. But in the moment, his thinking appeared to be selfish. Ridge believed that Eric’s rejection of treatment leading up to his collapse meant he would not want extraordinary efforts made when he was near death. Thankfully, a change of heart happened, and Donna still has her honey bear.
‘Bold And The Beautiful’ Spoilers – Ridge Forrester Took A Major Risk
It was more accessible for people to chide Ridge. He made a call during those chaotic moments that seemed uncaring.
But Ridge’s stance made sense now and could be proven prophetic. Yes, Eric did survive and likely would have died. But there is no way to know how his recovery will progress or how long he will live.
Defining a quality of life is highly subjective. Ridge believes all will be okay if Eric can recover to the point of being who he was. But a reduced version of himself will devastate him, assuming Eric has the mental capacity to compare yesterday to now and the future.
‘Bold And The Beautiful’ Spoilers – Eric Forrester’s Next Chapter Opens
During the past few years, McCook has delivered some of the best performances in what has already been a stellar career. He earned his first Daytime Emmy award last year due to his outstanding effort in the ED storyline.
The current story, which appeared to lead to McCook’s exit from the show, is even better. Kudos to him, his fellow actors, and all who work behind the scenes at this enduring daytime drama.
Eric’s next chapter remains unpredictable. That factor only ups what has already been great soap on B&B.
