For years, Brooke Logan Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang) and Taylor have duked it out over Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye). As he has bounced between the two of them, this has only served to make them resent each other.
When Ridge went away, after his marriage to Brooke fell apart, the ladies discovered that they liked each other. They found that they had things in common and did not want a man to come between them.
Brooke and Taylor decided to prioritize their friendship rather than fight over a man. They made a vow to each other to be transparent and open and to not get sucked into the Ridge triangle again.

Things were going very well for the ladies while Ridge was out of town. Now that he has returned. after taking down Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown), the dynamic has been shaken a bit. They both seem to be struggling a bit as they feel attraction to Ridge.
Ridge had an intimate dinner with Brooke at her home. The chemistry between them was evident, but Brooke put the brakes on the evening by remembering her vow to Taylor. Taylor sensed something happening between Brooke and Ridge in conversation the next day. She wants to have her own intimate dinner with Ridge now.
With the man back in town, Taylor has some ideas. She is encouraging Brooke to respond to the advances of a much younger man. Paul “Hollis” Hollister (Hollis W. Chambers) is attracted to Brooke and has been pursuing her. Taylor keeps encouraging Brooke to get involved with Hollis.
Why is Taylor pushing Brooke so hard to give Hollis some attention? It could be so that it frees her up to have a shot with Ridge again. She knows that if Brooke doesn’t have a diversion, then she’ll probably be after Ridge again. What do you think? Is Taylor encouraging this just for her own benefit?
