‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ (B&B) spoilers find that Delon De Metz recently divulged to Soap Opera Digest how he promised his mother he’d graduate from Harvard before pursuing acting, and he followed through- with honors.
Born and raised (and “causing a little hell”) in New York City, Delon took acting classes to help prepare for college interviews and, as his mother hoped, his future in politics. However, Delon caught the acting bug and, after graduating from the Ivy League university knew the time was right to try his luck in Hollywood.
‘The Bold and The Beautiful’ Spoilers: From Graduating Harvard with Honors to Hitting the Road to LaLa Land, Delon De Metz (Zende Forrester-Dominguez) Has Had Quite the Wild Ride.
The talented New Yorker of of Dutch and Caribbean descent won several small roles before landing the recurring character of Sam Parker on the 2017 drama thriller Zoo.
Delon gushed about his Zoo castmates and revealed it was one Zoo actress who helped him win his role on The Bold. Through the magic of technology, the actress read with Delon through a computer screen which Delon recorded on his phone for the B&B casting team.
It worked and three Zoom auditions later, including one reading with Kiara Barnes (Zoe Buckingham), Delon was on set.
Taking over the role of Zende from Rome Flynn has been a dream for Delon, albeit, a bit of a fever dream. With Covid-19 safety protocols in place, Delon found himself having to make-out with a shrunken head version of…himself!
“It was completely ridiculous,” he laughed, recounting the story to Soap Opera Digest. “It was my first experience and I wish I’d taken a photo for Instagram. There with this mannequin, which essentially looked like me.It was a version of my head, shrunken and then [producers] put Diamond’s beret on top. It was like basically kissing me with a hat on. It’s something I’ll carry with me in my back pocket forever.”
Delon also opened up about the extremely fast pace of the soap, which pal Tanner Novlan (Dr. John ‘Finn’ Finnegan) who studied at the same acting studio as Delon, tried to warn him about.
“It’s amazing how quickly you go from showing up to set to, ‘Action!’” he enthused. “It blew me out of the water. Tanner was not exaggerating. It keeps you on your toes and engaged the entire day, and then you leave and it really feels like you had a full workout.”
Delon hopes the Covid restrictions will lift soon so he can bond even further with his co-stars who currently are kept quite separate on set. Delon has, however, bonded greatly with the soap’s fashion consultant, Erica Pelosini.
He spoke of how the two work together to make Zende the fashionable designer we see on screen. “Sometimes I try and rein her in. There are times where I was like, ‘This seems a little much, even for me as a fashion designer.” Ultimately though, he usually concedes and ends up liking what he sees on the screen.
He does not like his co-stars stealing his character’s look. “I swear, every single week that we have a fitting, Lawrence (St. Victor- Carter Walton) and Tanner steal everything before me.”
It seems Delon gets his way after reminding his co soap hunks that their characters are doctors and lawyers, while his is the fashion designer. He tells them, “You don’t dress as cool as Zende, so you better not touch any of this stuff!”
