Michelle Young has blasted Matt James for how he treated her during the final stages of The Bachelor.

Although Matt’s time with Rachael Kirkconnell would end following their split, Matt got into double trouble after Michelle felt he left her dry. In a conversation with Bachelor host, Emmanuel Acho she said: “I asked if I could talk to Matt for two minutes, and not to change his route, to not get in the way of the relationship that he was pursuing that was still there. It was just for me to say my piece, but he refused to have that conversation with me.”
Who are we to say that Matt would have chosen Michelle, but in hindsight, she would seem to be a better proposition than Rachael given what we know now. This was out of character for Matt as he was known for being approachable on the show, which is why the show’s former star, JoJo Fletcher named Matt as ‘one of the best contestants ever.’
But this latest revelation is hardly going to win him some new fans. Michelle made sure he knew it. She added: “I had to walk away without closure, and I had to fill in the gaps of what our relationship really was, and I wasn’t OK. I wasn’t OK at all. It was a conversation so that I could have my inner peace when I left Pennsylvania, and you said no.”
Sadly, that has become the theme of the show lately, with many former stars failing to live up to their expectations. Had Matt had the conversation that she requested, who knows where the duo would be today? After all, they could both have gotten together given their current availability. Matt did hold his hands up, however.
He admitted his behaviour was out of order, but once again, it was a question of too little too late. He replied: “There’s no justification for why I didn’t have that conversation, and if I would have known that this is how you were feeling in that moment, then I would have fought to have that conversation.”
