It has been announced that the 50th Annual Daytime Emmys, presented by the (NATAS) National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, is slated for December 16th, 2023.

The affair will take place at the Los Angeles Bonaventure Hotel. The ceremony will be aired live at noon on both Watch.TheEmmys.tv.

    Let the Festivities Begin

The festivities begin at noon with the 50th Annual Daytime Emmys. At 9 p.m., The Daytime Creative Arts & Lifestyle Emmys will take place. The 2nd Annual Family and Children’s Creative Arts Emmy Awards Dinner will be held at 5 p.m. the following day.

Initially, the Daytime Emmys was set to air on June 16th, 2023, at 9 p.m. on CBS. However, due to the Writer’s Strike, it had to be postponed.

The Daytime Emmy nominations were announced in April. The President and CEO of NATAS made a statement about the nominees.

“We are pleased to honor once again the writers, performers, and other creators that inspire and entertain audiences of all ages. We look forward to a fun-packed weekend that underscores the amazing scope of content making a difference in viewers’ lives.”

General Hospital leads the pack this year with an impressive 19 nominations in total. All the soap operas compete for Outstanding Daytime Drama Series, Drama Series Writing Team, and Daytime Drama Directing Team.

NATAS also announced the inductees of the 2023 Gold and Silver Circle. The Gold and Silver Circle honors individuals who have made a lasting impression on daytime television. Vernee Watson (who plays Stella Henry on GH) is one of the inductees.

There is no official word on the televised aspect of the show. CBS and the Screen Actors Guild must work out a time and day. However, the actors who work on the soaps work under a different contract and have not been on strike, unlike the SAG-AFTRA actors who remain on strike as of now.
