    Telemundo spoilers: He’s back

Fernando Colunga appeared at the recent NATPE conference, an event that allows content creators to present content to potential buyers and advertisers. It didn’t take long for the pictures to go online and fans to get excited. The actor used the appearance to announce his new exclusive deal with Telemundo. The first project he’ll appear in for the network is a series called Malverde: El Santo Patrón. According to the Wikipedia page, it’s set to debut in 2020. This actor has been a telenovela mainstay for years. One of the projects we know him from is María la del Barrio. This series told the story of a young girl named María (Thalía) whose Godmother dies, leaving her alone in the world. A man named Fernando de la Vega (Ricardo Blume) took her in, leading to a big struggle between him and the rest of his family. Fernando Colunga played his son, Luis Fernando de la Vega. He was a guy wronged by a woman who had a habit of drinking and gambling. He decided to take his issues with women out on María. What he didn’t expect was to fall in love with her. It’s one of the most iconic novelas, with a villain you might have seen in those “cries in Spanish” memes. But that wasn’t his only role.

    Telemundo spoilers: Trilogy

María la del Barrio is one of three novelas that’s considered the Maria Trilogy. It’s not a proper trilogy, as Thalía plays a different woman named Maria dealing with rich people who mistreat her in each. There’s always a reluctant love interest who falls for her after getting involved for selfish reasons. Colunga was in all three of the Marias, although the final one was the only one where he was the leading man. He also starred in Mañana es Para Siempre and La Usurpadora. The latter was recently remade for Univision, starring Sandra Echeverria.

    Telemundo spoilers: The basics

Fernando Colunga was born in 1966 in Mexico City Mexico. His bio information has him graduating from the famous Televisa acting school, and he started his career in 1988 with a bang. According to his acting credits, he got a role in a Telenovla and a movie that same year.
