Her daughter, Jessica Contreras Castro (Marielena Dávila), caught Paulina and Vicente Varela (Alejandro López) looking a bit friendly. So, she questioned this and why he was giving Paulina diamond earrings. This was a problem for more than one reason.
See, Jessica was already upset about her parents sticking together until Paulina’s book came out. She finds it fake, and it’s making her question a lot. Seeing her mom accept earrings she supposedly has moral objections to made Jessica’s opinion worse.
Now, she wonders if anything her mother says is authentic. And this is what happens when people try too hard to project an image to the public. It just can’t last.
