Telemundo La Reina del Sur spoilers reveal the Gran Final is getting closer and closer. So, we’re about to see some big moves from Teresa Mendoza (Kate del Castillo) and the rest to finally end Epifanio Vargas (Humberto Zurita) and the corruptos in the DEA. Plus, we saw a touching moment with César “Batman” Güemes (Alejandro Calva). Plus, it looks like Mateo Mena (Anderley Palomino) really doesn’t have what it takes to hang with Sofia Dantes’ (Isabella Sierra) family. Here’s what you need to know.

Telemundo La Reina del Sur Spoilers: Change of heart

First, La Reina del Sur spoilers reveal we didn’t see season 1. But the second season told us enough about Batman to know he hated Epifanio with a vengeance and wanted to make him pay. Why? Because Epifanio was involved in killing Batman’s family, including his children. A big part of Batman’s thing this season was wanting to not only make Epifanio pay, but to return to his country. Well, at least one of those goals changed.

See, Batman was about to follow Teresa and others to Mexico to take a final stand against Epifanio. However, Sheila (Cuca Escribano) was opposed and was genuinely upset that he was putting himself at risk after promising he’d be there with her for this new baby. Well, despite leaving with the rest, Batman decided to come back and let Sheila know that revenge was no longer the top priority in his life. It’s her. We like seeing that growth in him, although we feel bad he’s not going to be a part of Epifanio’s downfall.

Telemundo La Reina del Sur Spoilers: The wrong stuff

Elsewhere, Mateo was already giving clues he just wasn’t cut out for the kind of life Sofia, Teresa, and the others have had to live. And he proved it even more so last time. We gotta give him credit that he’s concerned about Father Gonzalo Perea (Fernando Solórzano). However, he’s helping at Sofia and everyone else’s expense. How? He’d called the authorities and offered to turn himself in—and give info they want—if Father Gonzo is freed. Sofia will be devastated, and here’s another reason why we don’t like what he’s doing: we think he’s motivated by jealousy. This decision came after seeing Sofia and Fedor Yosikov (Víctor Rebull) looking a little too friendly.

Telemundo La Reina del Sur Spoilers: What’s next

As for what’s ahead, we’ll see a clandestine meeting between Danilo Márquez (Emmanuel Orenday), Teresa, and her people that will be a bit shocking to #TeamTeresa. La Reina del Sur spoilers tease they’ll learn he’s not who everyone thought he was. We’ll also see a powerful woman shocked the group as well, proposing a dangerous and audacious plan to get access to the ágape presidencial. Looks like Epifanio is about to pay dearly for what he’s done, and we can’t wait. Although, the finale doesn’t air until January 16th, so it’s possible we might have to wait just a little longer to really see him fall.

We’re guessing the power woman who shocks them with a dangerous plan will be Genoveva Alcalá (Kika Edgar), as she is the primera dama. And she’d be the most likely to know ways around the place that others might not. We also have to say that we’re intrigued by what the teasers say about Danilo. We wonder if the writers are about to pull some big twist about him being a plant to take down Epifanio. We’re not sure if that really fits with what we saw earlier in the season, but it wouldn’t be the first time a show ignored the past to bring in some big, shocking twist.
