Michelle Yi, who is best known for being on the hit TV show Survivor, has been a victim of an attack.
Survivor’s Michelle Yi Was Beaten And Stabbed By A Homeless Woman In Suspected Racial Attack!
The incident sent shockwaves around the internet, given the manner in which it had occurred. Michelle was apparently getting ready to teach a pilates class when out of nowhere, a woman who appeared to be homeless decided to attack her.
And the circumstances surrounding it were very gruesome indeed. The authorities have alleged that she was beaten with a metal baton. But unlike a random attack, this was quite clearly coordinated.
The police confirmed that the aggressor had also attacked two other people before she decided to turn her attention to Michelle. Naturally, when her class was on, Michelle’s customers could see that she was not in the right frame of mind.
And this has left her feeling traumatised by it all. In an interview with People magazine, Michelle outlined the circumstances around the attack. She said: “She was yelling all sorts of things like, ‘You stole my identity’ and, ‘You’re a prostitute.
“Santa Monica has a homeless problem, and I’ve dealt with this type of thing before. So I told her, ‘Ma’am, you can’t be here. You need to leave.”
And after further revelations, the incident looks more disturbing. It turns out that the defendant was a 25-year-old woman by the name of Alexandria Diaz.
While her motives for the attack remain unclear, the manner in which she was carrying it out suggests that she had planned this well. Michelle went on to say that she had also been attacked with a knife.
She added: “She stabbed me in the left bicep. And then she hit me on the right hand with the baton. My Apple Watch shattered. My face split open. Blood was everywhere.”
The reaction from social media suggested that this attack may have been racially motivated, given the rise in hate crimes against people of an Asian background following the pandemic.
But as for Michelle, she could not give a definitive answer on that. She continued: “I can’t prove whether it was racially motivated or not.”
