A new poll has revealed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle should have their royal titles removed.
Poll Shows 95 Percent Of People Want Harry And Meghan’s Titles Removed
Ever since the pair left the firm in 2020, they have been very vocal about their grievances in the institution. But as part of that process, they have still retained their Duke and Duchess of Sussex titles.
This has not gone down very well with the public since they have been accused of exploiting the firm in order to secure lucrative deals with Spotify and Netflix, in part because of her titles.
As such, petitions started to emerge online demanding that the couple have the titles removed. Meanwhile, when Harry was asked about giving up his titles, he simply said: “What difference would it make.”
However, a lot has changed since then. Politician Bob Seely has made it clear that he would be putting forward a bill for parliament to consider that could remove the titles. With that being said, a poll stated that a staggering 95 percent of people wanted the titles gone.
This overwhelming consensus will have been helped by the fact that Harry’s memoir did not put him in a very good light. He accused his brother, Prince William, of assaulting him, as well as the Duke of Sussex calling Queen Consort Camilla a villain. And to make things even more problematic, he also disclosed how he lost his virginity.
It is not surprising, then, that the social media response was brutal as many had a few choice words to say about the Sussexes. One person wrote: “Their honorary titles should be revoked! The late Queen Elizabeth bestowed the titles.
“When they resigned as “working royals” the Queen said they should/could not use their titles to make money. BUT they have, against her specifically instructing them not to.”
