    Queen Elizabeth II

Queen Elizabeth II had reportedly struggled to enjoy Christmas, as she would have usually done so, this year.

Sources Confirm That ‘Christmas Was A Bit Of A Struggle’ For Queen Elizabeth II

It is no surprise given the number of absentees she had to contend with in her the family. The most high-profile one was Prince  Philip, given that he is no longer alive following his passing at age of 99.

Not only that, but the Queen also had to put up with the absence of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle who decided to spend Christmas overseas following their departure from the Royal Family in 2020.

With so many changes to contend with, coupled with the fact that the pandemic has not made things any easier, it is totally understandable that she had some difficulties.

A source said: “Christmas was a bit of a struggle for the queen without Prince Philip by her side. And not being able to spend it with her whole family [didn’t help].” Nevertheless, there were a lot of positives that she was able to focus on.

First of all, the Queen had managed to interact with most of her grandkids. And given that she is grandmother to 12 children, being able to focus on them was something that she cherished.

Secondly, her Christmas speech was praised across social media as it demonstrated her fortitude in being able to show strength despite the struggles she had been through this year.

The source added: “She’s not one to wallow in self-pity and kept her chin up.” And yet, there is no denying the fact that her Christmas was tarnished by the events that occurred.

According to reports, a man had been arrested for trespassing at Windsor Castle, which happened to be the same place that the Queen was apparently celebrating Christmas.

And given that he was armed with a crossbow, it is natural that the Queen has been left shaken by that incident despite the absence of any injuries.

It has been a very tough period indeed. But if the Queen manages to stick together with her family, then she will be in a good position to deal with any obstacles that come her way.
