About a year ago, the Sister Wives were rocked by a huge announcement. Christine Brown told her husband, Kody Brown that she was leaving him after being married for 26 years. There were many reasons for her departure, but she had one big one that really made her stop and think.
Sister Wives: What Happened To Ysabel Brown?
Christine and Kody share six children and in September of 2020, during the pandemic, Ysabel had to have back surgery. This was to correct her scoliosis and they had to fly to a specialist in New Jersey. This was a hard time for her and Christine wanted her to feel safe and secure. There was one major factor in this situation that convinced Christine that Kody wasn’t worth it.

She told fans that she found it difficult to stay with a man that she didn’t respect. When Kody chose to stay in Arizona with Robyn Brown instead of going to be with his daughter during surgery, she knew that she was done. She told her fans, “I was there with Ysabel the whole time in New Jersey for the surgery. And I remember them pointing out, like, ‘Are you here alone? Where’s your husband?’ I’m like, ‘Oh, he’s not here.’ And they’re like, ‘Whoa, isn’t that hard?’ And I’m like, ‘No, it’s hard for her. It’s hard for Ysabel, but it’s not hard for me.’ It was a good wake-up call. In the end, I would’ve preferred to have him there, of course, because it’s what Ysabel needed. But I didn’t need him anymore.”
Christine also added that she and Kody never were good at communicating and she never trusted him. She wanted a partnership from their marriage and she always felt like she was second to him, sometimes last. There were so many moments in their marriage that made her step back and think more about what she really wanted and him not being at Ysabel’s surgery really took the cake.
In this season of Sister Wives, we will see Kody trying to convince Christine to stay when she tells him that she is leaving. Fans are interested to see how it all played out and how much of her we will see in this season. It does look like her cooking show will start back up again soon too, so her die-hard fans have that to look forward to.
