Ever since Britney Spears turned 41 on Dec.2nd of 2022, people have been speculating about her actual freedom. Last year, in Nov. of 2021, Britney’s 13-year-long conservatorship was terminated making her a free woman, at least legally. With her latest social media spiral, fans have wondered if Britney is actually free or not, and wondered if she actually has control of her social media.
It started a little while before her 41st birthday with her calling out Selena Gomez after some comments that Selena had made about not wanting to see girls’ bodies on Instagram, Britney felt called out by her statements (even though they were made years ago before Britney started posting nudes) and posted some call outs of her own saying how dare Selena come down on girls who just want attention who “have nothing”.

She then posted pictures on her birthday, one of her and Sam at her wedding saying how blessed she was to have him. Then she posted a picture of Ansel Elgort dancing at her wedding, even though in the caption she basically stated that she didn’t know who on earth he was just called him “the main guy in Baby Driver” which implies that she didn’t know the guy from Adam.
She then posted a picture praising Jamie Lynn Spears, that’s when people started getting suspicious because Britney and Jamie Lynn have been at each of other’s throats and so far there have been no word on whether or not they’ve made up.
If they have, well, social media didn’t know about it and Jamie Lynn herself has given no indication of a reconciliation happening. She also posted some things to her sons, and another fractured relationship in her life stating how she would die for them, but that one is a little more understandable, she is their Mom after all.
Sam posted a now-deleted IG story stating that he and Britney were going to be late for dinner and that she was making IG content and that was the reason she was late. A lot of people didn’t really like the tone he took with Britney, telling her to hurry up, and the fact of the matter is Britney deleted her IG a day afterward and did not post any new content at all.
Sam Asghari answered a fan’s question that they asked him about him possibly being the one to control her social media to which he answered, “I would never control someone who has been controlled for 13+ years.”
Afterward, he spoke out on his own IG story stating the following: “Social media can be traumatizing. Sometimes it’s good to take a break. She has her voice and is a free woman. I have respect for her privacy and I protect it at all times. Thank you to all of her protective fans. Out of respect for her privacy I don’t post her 24/7.
I ask for permission if I ever do. For my job I have to attend many events. It would be my honor if she joins. For her those things are not fun. They’re hectic and full of stress. Especially since she’s been doing these things since 8 years old.
Plus she already slayed every single one she has been to. I’ve always respected and supported her privacy with everything I’ve had. I ask of you supportive and protective fans to do the same. Sometimes being overprotective can cause more stress and damage.”
