Ryan Seacrest is a possible replacement for outgoing “Wheel of Fortune” presenter Pat Sajak… and we’ve discovered that talks are in their early stages.

Ryan is a possible replacement for Pat, and he has spoken with Sony about perhaps taking over for the departing presenter. We’re informed Ryan now has some extra time in his schedule because he’s no longer on “LIVE with Kelly and Ryan.”

Sony owns “Wheel of Fortune,” and there have been claims of a field of unknown applicants… though who else is on the list besides Ryan. Bloomberg was the first to report that Seacrest was a possible candidate.

What’s also fascinating… Ryan was a longtime friend of the late Merv Griffin, who founded ‘Wheel,’ so you have to wonder whether that element is contributing to Ryan’s interest. Pat revealed this week that he will stand down as host in 2024 after 41 seasons on “Wheel of Fortune.” Merv hired Pat as the host way back in 1981.

Ryan, of course, has a lot of experience hosting TV shows… he was the original host of “American Idol” back in the day, and he previously presented ‘Live’ with Kelly Ripa… so he could be a great fit here. Ryan’s representative declined to respond.

It will be strange seeing a new host on the legendary show and may take some getting used to, but if Seacrest is up for it, he certainly has the experience.

It will be interesting to see where the show decides to go and who else could possibly be in consideration for the position. We’re sure there are a lot of big names out there right being thrown around for the job!

What do you think? Would you like to see Seacrest take over the show? Who would you like to see take over the job? Let us know in the comments below.
