Hannah Gutierrez was the woman in charge of maintaining and supply weapons on the set of the film ‘Rust’ and is clearly feeling responsible for what happened as new bodycam footage shows her just minutes after the shooting talking about how she just ruined her career.
In the footage, you see Gutierrez tell police she’s the film’s armorer followed by “Or at least I was” before telling the officer “Welcome to the worst day of my life.” As she’s accompanied to the restroom she mutters, “I can’t believe Alec Baldwin was holding the gun. That’s so fu–ed.”
‘Rust’ Armorer Hannah Gutierrez Says She Ruined Her Career Minutes After The Shooting Took Place
The camera continues to record her as the police ask if she can be taken to a squad car away from her coworkers. Hannah was trained by her dad, Thell Reed, and told the cops, “I’m the only female armorer in the game and I just f****d up my whole entire career.”
The footage is just some of the hours of video released by the Santa Fe County Sheriff on Monday including bodycam taken of Alec Baldwin.
Halyna Hutchins was killed after Baldwin fired a gun that had live ammunition in it. The investigation continues but both Baldwin and Gutierrez have been named defendants in litigation as a result of the incident.
While there seem to have been several safety hazards around the set, these two exemplified terrible gun handling, management and safety that resulted in injuries and the death of Hutchins. They should (and probably will) be held responsible for what happened.
What do you think? Who is more responsible for the shooting? Alec Baldwin for his gross mishandling of the firearm or Gutierrez for allowing live ammunition to be left around and loaded into the gun? Let us know in the comments below.
