British Royal News finds that it isn’t a chart that most people would have heard about, but Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor would have been disappointed that he wasn’t named as the most searched baby in 2019 by Google.
Archie was born earlier this year to world wide joy. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been keen to keep Archie away from the public spot and keen fans on their toes with sporadic appearances. He was most recently seen during his parent’s tour to South Africa. Archie was born just a year after Harry and Meghan were married at Windsor Castle in 2018.
British Royal News: Not Most Searched Baby
Despite his overwhelming popularity with royal fans, Archie could only manage the bronze medal spot in Google’s most searched babies of 2019. The winner for the most searched baby wasn’t even a real-life baby and was instead Baby Yoda from The Mandalorian. Baby Yoda has been seen on countless memes since the series was brought out in November, and the fact that he tops this list over royalty just shows how popular the Disney+ show has been with fans. It may have come as a shock that the character topped the list, as Archie also had a six-month head start on the Star Wars legend.
British Royal News: Google’s Search Parameters
It may not have come as much of a surprise for some people when they realise that countries such as the United Kingdom and Australia weren’t included in the search rankings. The data that Google used was predominantly from the US audience. But, The Mandalorian’s popularity has been widespread. Its popularity ensured that it quickly rose to the top of the rankings ahead of all the other famous babies in the world. The search spiked when the show was released, before it peaked on the first day of December. Many fans took to social media to acclaim the character, which has forced multiple toy stores to begin production on a cuddly toy of the character.
The other baby ahead of Archie in the rankings was Baby Shark, which was one of the biggest songs of the year and created multiple online trends throughout the past 12 months. That is a testament to the addictive sound of the song since it was initially released in 2016. It has accumulated over 2.2 billion views and remains in the top 25 most-played videos in YouTube history.
