The formerly pro-Meghan Markle publication, Vanity Fair, recently slammed the Sussexes and analyzed the past five years since they stepped down as working royals and moved to the US.
The article was in last week’s edition of the magazine. Vanity Fair obviously isn’t too keen on Meghan Markle anymore.
Vanity Fair Was Only Interested In Meghan Markle When She Was Harry’s Girlfriend
The magazine scored a significant win in October 2017 when they interviewed Prince Harry’s then-girlfriend as everyone was clamoring to talk to her at the time.
Meghan’s appeared on the cover. She hired PR advisor Keleigh Thomas Morgan from the celebrity favorite firm, Sunshine Sachs.
Meghan purportedly accused Vanity Fair of printing a “racist headline.” The Sussexes thought the title, “I’m Just Wild About Harry,” was racist because a song with the same name appeared in a 1939 movie with Judy Garland and Mickey Rooney in which they performed a “blackface number.”
Harry and Meghan tried to get the title changed and raised hell over it. Meghan was furious with Keleigh and strongly considered firing her.
Meghan was also dissatisfied with the gorgeous pictures the magazine took of her and wasn’t shy about letting everyone know about it.
The Duchess of Sussex wasn’t thrilled that the story’s emphasis was placed on her relationship with Harry.
It’s highly doubtful that the D-list celebrity would have made it on the magazine’s front cover because of her role as the pretty paralegal, Rachel Zane, on “Suits.” However, as Prince Harry’s girlfriend, she was highly sought after.
Vanity Fair’s reasons behind their brutal takedown of Harry and Meghan could be Meghan’s attitude when she worked with the publication. She was said to be incredibly nasty when things didn’t go her way.
Meghan’s Bullying Made Former Employees Need Therapy
The magazine revealed a few hard truths about Meghan Markle. Apparently, her bullying caused former members of her staff to need therapy.
They also uncovered that she wasn’t the one who devised the idea for Archetypes, the short-lived podcast show she did for Spotify.
According to The Times, the couple dismissed the allegations, and sources close to Harry and Meghan called the claims “distressing.”
It was explained in the recent Vanity Fair article that Meghan “acted like a Mean Girls teenager.” A source close to her described what it was like to work with Meghan.
“She would be warm and effusive toward employees at the start, before turning cold and withholding toward the person she perceived to be responsible when something went poorly, often due to Meghan and Harry’s demands.”
Another source who worked with them on projects told the publication,
“She’s constantly playing checkers. I’m not even going to say chess, but she knows where everybody is on her board.”
They added,
“And when you are not in, you are to be thrown to the wolves at any given, which they say meant undermining behavior. It’s talking behind your back. It’s chewing at your sense of self. Really, like a Mean Girls teenager.”
Vanity Fair Told The Truth
The article also included others who felt like they were mercilessly bullied during their time working with her. Her negative behavior and attitude were said to have created a toxic work environment.
Some former employees have described Meghan warmly, saying she genuinely cared for them like a parent would care for a child.
That being said, the allegations are very damaging considering her cooking show, “With Love, Meghan, ” will debut on March 4th.
It was initially supposed to be on January 15th. Due to the devastation from the wildfires in LA, it was pushed back.
Aside from a few former staff members who defended Meghan, we have repeatedly seen the same bullying allegations about the Duchess. Vanity Fair told the truth. It tells of Harry and Meghan not responding.
