Real Housewives aren’t just for reality TV anymore. Coming to your televisions this Christmas is NBC’s streaming platform, Peacock’s original Christmas flick- The Real Housewives of the North Pole.
And what would an original Housewife movie be without an OG? Nothing, which is why Kyle Richards, the only surviving original Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star will be front and center this holiday season.
Real Housewives of …the North Pole?
Richards, who started her acting career at just age 5 on Little House on the Prairie will star alongside Betsy Brandt, most recently seen as Walter White’s (Bryan Cranston) sister-in-law, Marie Schrader in Breaking Bad. And sure, we’re all still hanging out in our swimsuits at the beach, but Peacock is doing its best to excite viewers for the upcoming Christmas season by dropping the “this could be a Bravo show” plot to the RHONP.
Trish (Richards) and Diana (Brandt) are the reigning “Christmas Queens” of their small Vermont town called North Pole. The pair have “won the Best Holiday House decorating competition every year for the past nine years. But days before Christmas, a friendship-ending argument sparks a town-wide feud and draws the attention of a national magazine writer hoping to make a name for herself with her scintillating expose titled, ‘Real Housewives of the North Pole’.”
If it all sounds very “Hallmark” to you, it’s because it was written Tippi, Neal and Spyder Dobrofsky. The Dobrofsky trio have a ton of Hallmark movies to their resume.
The movie, which started production in late July, is being filmed in Utah and though it doesn’t seem to have a whole lot to do with the Bravo reality smash hit franchise, it would sure please fans if some familiar faces from Salt Lake popped up in places around North Pole!
Well have to wait until our swimsuits turn to snowsuits to find out, of course. Watch this space as we find out more details, including a premier date.
