‘Real Housewives of New Jersey’ star Joe Gorga has defended his actions following a video showing him engaging in a rant with a tenant over alleged unpaid rent.

Joe was not happy when he confronted the tenant in a parking lot, as shown in the clip here, as the pair had a back and forth over unpaid rent. The tenant sought to justify this on the basis that Joe had been paid via a Covid-19 relief program, and yet, Gorga was not happy on two accounts.
First of all, Joe had been very hospitable by virtue of the fact that he was helping out somebody in need. Therefore, the last thing he wanted to see was being taken advantage of.
Secondly, irrespective of the relief programme, Joe made it clear that he was still owed rent. It is alleged that the tenant owes Joe an outstanding $89,000. It is not surprising ,then, that eviction papers were filed.
And looking back, Joe had no regrets. In his comments, he said: “I’m upset. I just don’t do well with people that don’t do the right thing in life and don’t hustle and don’t work and don’t try, and so I’m gonna stand by how I handled it.”
It is one thing not being able to pay rent, but another thing entirely when this involves dishonest behaviour in an attempt to avoid any type of communication with the landlord. And that the latter is precisely what the tenant had apparently done, which is why Joe lost his rag.
He went on to explain how the tenant had been avoiding his calls on numerous occasions. Therefore, without an adequate explanation, Joe could not be blamed for losing his temper as he simply viewed it as an attempt by somebody to evade paying rent.
And that was ultimately what pushed Joe over the edge. He added: “You know what else got me mad…I’ve called this guy numerous times. [For] years, he’s been avoiding me. [He] doesn’t even have the decency to pick up the phone and talk to me.”
