Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Henry Ruggs III caused the death of a young woman, Tina Tintor while driving drunk in Las Vegas. Ruggs was out partying and drinking all night before getting the driver seat of his car and going over 156 mph before colliding with Tintor, 23.

The collision caused Tintor’s vehicle to roll over 500 feet before it burst into flames. Ruggs was sent to the hospital where he yelled at the staff and attempted to pull IVs out of his arm.

This has obviously caused quite the stir, yet former teammate Derek Carr said he’ll be there for Ruggs.

Raiders Quarterback Derek Carr Says Former Teammate Henry Ruggs III Deserves To Be Loved After Fatal Car Crash

Carr spoke about Ruggs and how he needs to be loved right now,

“I will always be here for him. That won’t change and I’ll prove that over the course of time to him. Not to anyone else. He needs people to love him right now. He’s probably feeling a certain type of way about himself right now and he needs to be loved and if no one else will do it, I’ll do it.”

While some see this as a compassionate move from Carr, others see Ruggs’ actions as inexcusable. He chose to drink and drive that night, and he chose to go over 150 mph. He was driving around Las Vegas like a bullet that had been fired from a gun. He killed a young woman and he just used a different tool.

People act like this was an accident, but this was all in control from Ruggs’.

While I can see Carr’s compassion for his former teammate, this is the same man who claimed that his ex-coach Jon Gruden using foul language in an e-mail a decade ago was some terrible sin. Yet, Ruggs’ is forgivable?

What do you think? What’s your opinion on Carr‘s comments and do you think Ruggs’ deserves the compassion after killing someone? Let us know in the comments below.
