Well, this sure as heck is awkward. There’s a new video that shows a member of the Queen’s Guard knocking over a boy while marching. The clip has now been viewed more than 5.7 million times. Here’s what you need to know.
The TikTok video shows two of the guards marching in the English capital when the boy steps in the way of one of them, who shouts “Make way!” before trampling the kid. The young boy is seen scrambling back up as soon as the guard walks past him.
Queen’s Guard Knocks Down A Kid Outside Tower Of London
In a statement, a Tower of London spokesperson said: “We are aware of this incident and were sorry to see this. The Guard at the Tower does take care to warn the public when they’re moving, and this was an unfortunate accident. Our staff and the soldier checked in on the family afterward and were reassured that all was well.”
Of course, that seems to be the least of Queen Elizabeth’s worries these days. There’s another report that says the Metropolitan Police are investigating a video after a man was arrested at Windsor Castle with a crossbow while Queen Elizabeth was celebrating Christmas with her family.
An armed man was arrested after attempting to break into Windsor Castle on Christmas Day. Police said the intruder was carrying a weapon but did not break into any buildings on Christmas Day morning. They apprehended a 19-year-old man from Southampton.
The video, obtained by The Sun, appears to show a masked figure in a dark hoodie holding a crossbow and addressing the camera with a distorted voice, saying they wanted to “assassinate the Queen” in a “revenge” mission. A spokesperson for the Met Police said: “Security processes were triggered within moments of the man entering the grounds and he did not enter any buildings. Following a search of the man, a crossbow was recovered.”
They added: “Inquiries into the full circumstances of this incident are being progressed by Metropolitan Police specialist operations. The Met would not comment on who appeared in the video, but a spokesperson said in a statement: “Following the man’s arrest, detectives are assessing the contents of a video.”
