Let’s just hope that Joe won’t walk ahead of the Queen like former President Joe Biden did when he met her a few years back, right? Here’s what you need to know.
According to reports, the meeting will come during the President’s visit to the United Kingdom for the upcoming G7 summit, his first trip abroad since taking office. It will also be Queen Elizabeth’s first major meeting with a world leader since the death of her husband Prince Philip back in April.
Queen Elizabeth To Meet With President Biden On June 13th
President Joe Biden and his wife Kamala Harris will visit Queen Elizabeth II at Windsor Castle on June 13 after the president takes part in a G-7 summit in Cornwall, England, and ahead of his NATO meetings in Brussels and high-stakes summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Geneva. The annual economic summit marks the first face-to-face gathering of leaders representing the G-7 — from Canada, Germany, France, Italy, Japan, the U.K. and the U.S. — in two years.
In addition, The White House says Biden will also meet with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson while in England.
It’s also been noted that over the course of her reign, the 95-year-old monarch has met with every US President except Lyndon Johnson. Biden will be the 12th U.S. president Queen Elizabeth has met face-to-face.
A few months ago, when asked if Biden wanted to meet the Queen while in the U.K., Press Secretary Jen Psaki replied: “Who wouldn’t want to meet the Queen?”
