That is according to Royal expert Camilla Tominey. The event is set to go ahead on Thursday, 2nd June 2022, which promises to be a highly anticipated event for many reasons.
Not only will it mark the Queen’s 70th year in charge, it would be the first time that the couple have been shown to the public in the UK since their exit from the Royal Family in 2020. With that being said, there is a lot of uncertainty over how the couple are going to be received after having received a mixed response since their exit.
In an interview with The Telegraph, Camilla said: “You don’t want some sort of Harry and Meghan sideshow going on when the main event must be HMQ the Queen and equally there will be other members of the Royal Family who are still doing the daily grind.”
In an attempt to mitigate anything like this from happening, the duo have been banned from appearing on the palace balcony. It is not clear if this will create more publicity for them, but in any event, it does indicate that there is a clear separation between them and the Royal family.
Although that may be the case, there are still rumours that the couple could be accompanied by a Netflix film crew. If that does end up happening, then it will take away the spectacle from the Queen’s celebrations.
The fans on social media were equally pessimistic towards the couple attending. People were of the view that their appearance could create tension within the Royal dynamics.
One person wrote: “If you let those two anywhere near your jubilee you and the family will live to regret it. They have every intention of ambushing proceedings to the detriment of Royal Family members and loyal public. Please, please don’t.”
