They wanted in, but were kept out. There’s a new report that says Meghan Markle was treated like an outsider by the royal family, similar to the way Prince Philip was treated when he first married Queen Elizabeth. Here’s what you need to know.
According to royal expert Ingrid Seward, the Sussexes certainly have a lot in common with Prince Philip, as he too was treated as an “outsider” and “patronized” when he married then-Princess Elizabeth.
Seward says, “Life at court was very frustrating for him at first. It was very stuffy.”
Prince Phillip And Meghan Markle Were Treated As Outsiders By The Royal Family
Even though Prince Philip was a distant cousin of Queen Elizabeth, a lot of people didn’t like him, simply because he was a foreigner from Greece.
“Tommy Lascelles (private secretary to the King) was impossible. They were bloody to him. They patronized him. They treated him as an outsider. It wasn’t much fun,” she noted.
“He laughed it off, of course, but it must have hurt. I’m not sure Princess Elizabeth noticed it. She probably didn’t see it.”
Needless to say, Queen Elizabeth who had fallen in love with Philip as a 13-year-old, wasn’t interested in what Palace officials thought and married him in 1947.
Of course, the same could be said about Meghan Markle, who has been accused of bulling her staff. This all began when London’s The Times paper reported that several aides have already come forward to speak out against Meghan and her bullying.
Yet, Meghan has made it quite clear that she thinks this is nothing more than a calculated smear campaign made against her. Buckingham Palace is even mulling bringing in an independent law firm to investigate the allegations.
