Prince Harry has been battling the Home Office in Britain to obtain taxpayer-funded security when he visits the UK.
Harry Lost His Legal Battle In May, But Ravec Has Agreed to Revisit The Matter
Harry claims that he faces threats to his and his family’s safety. The Duke of Sussex was livid when he lost his police protection in 2020 after stepping down as a working royal.
Truthfully, the minute Harry quit the royal family and left Britain, his security should have been removed, as the taxpayers shouldn’t have to pay for his protection.
Harry argued that the paparazzi were after him the way they were after his mother, the late Princess Diana. While he makes a compelling point, the paparazzi doesn’t work the way it did back in the 90s.
Yet, Harry and Meghan were accused of staging a paparazzi chase in New York City in 2023. It looked like they were trying to recreate Princess Diana’s infamous paparazzi chase in Paris, which is thought to have led to her tragic and untimely death in August 1997.
Harry and Meghan Markle moved to Montecito, California, with their two children, Archie and Lilibet, where his security bill is reportedly in the millions.
The Duke lost his legal battle back in May. He had repeatedly insisted that it was unsafe for him to bring Meghan and his kids to the UK.
The potential renewal of his UK security would obviously change Harry’s mind. Harry’s team is expected to present a compelling case for restoring his armed security.
Harry Is Required to Inform the Police Thirty Days Prior to Arrival In the UK
Right now, Harry is required to inform the police thirty days before making the trip to Britain. Harry has encountered stalkers during his time in the UK.
Harry has been concerned that, as a high-risk case, he should receive proper security. Instead of the armed guards he had as a working royal, when Harry would come to the UK, he would be assigned an officer to contact.
Several people have also been put in prison for plotting to kill Prince Harry or planning to attack him. Harry is determined to have his taxpayer-funded security restored.
Regardless of the outcome of Harry’s battle for security, King Charles would love to see his grandchildren. Charles visits with Archie and Lilibet have been few and far between.
The last time His Majesty saw Archie and Lilibet was in June 2022 at the late Queeen’s Platinum Jubilee.
The King also wants to have a relationship with his son, Harry, despite Harry constantly speaking to the media about private family matters and continuing to engage in negative, attention-seeking behavior.
The Duke was formally told that the Royal and VIP Executive Committee (Ravec) had changed its mind and has decided to review Harry’s security case, a massive victory for Harry.
Harry Made Some Comments About the Royal Family When Interviewed By the BBC
Harry’s legal team had previously argued to the court that he had been “singled out” for “inferior treatment.” They claimed Ravec had not “followed its own rules.”
In May, Harry was interviewed by the BBC about his security fears, and he spoke candidly about his broken relationship with his father.
He said,
“He won’t speak to me because of this security stuff.”
Harry claimed that he didn’t know how long his father had to live.
The Duke continued,
“There have been so many disagreements between myself and some of my family.”
Harry also said that he had “forgiven them.”
He added,
“Whether you’re the government, the Royal Household, whether you’re my dad, my family, despite all our differences, do you not want to just ensure our safety?”
