It is anticipated that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will begin a new phase in the near future and will discontinue airing their grievances about the Royal Family in public.
Harry And Meghan Set To Rebrand By Moving Away From The Firm-‘They Can’t Keep Going Over And Over And Over The Past,’ Says Royal Expert Afua Hagan
After residing in the US for nearly three years, Harry and Meghan are looking ahead by initiating new projects, furthering their Archewell brand and separating themselves from the Royal Family.
Ever since Harry and Meghan announced that they would no longer be a part of the Royal Family at the beginning of 2020, they have continuously made assertions about the firm.
In 2021, the world was shocked by the couple’s sensational tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey, and they have continued to make headlines with the release of their new Netflix documentary, and Harry’s memoir, Spare. But now it appears that they are focusing on themselves moving forward.
Afua Hagan, who happens to be a royal expert, had this to say: “[The ventures will be] less about what happened to them before. They can’t keep going over and over and over the past forever. It’s just going to be painful.”
Much in the same way, PR expert Shannon Peerless acknowledged the importance of the Sussexes moving on, yet was uncertain about how it would affect their standing in the future.
The public’s opinion of Meghan and Harry has dropped dramatically since the release of the Duke’s memoir. According to YouGov’s Royal Family opinion tracker, two months before they stepped down, Harry had a net positive rating of 51 percent.
Immediately after they left, this number dropped to 20 percent; it decreased further to -25 percent after their interview with Oprah, and now it stands at -44 percent. Meghan has also seen a significant decline in her approval rating.
Last November, the public reacted positively to her, but that had shifted to a net negative of 11 percent by January. Currently, her approval rating is at -46. And yet, it appears that the royal connection is going to be harder to shake off than first thought.
Peerless added: “Whilst the drama may die down for Harry and Meghan in the not-too-distant future, the Royal feud will unfortunately follow them around for years and years to come.”
