British Royal Family News suggests that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are very much aware of the fact that they have lost their “golden couple” status by the public. Or at least that’s what one royal insider says.
Because of a number of embarrassing videos and photo ops, it seems as though the public on both sides of the pond are becoming less and less interested in all things Harry and Meghan. Here’s what you need to know.
Things just haven’t been the same for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle ever since they packed their bags and moved from London to Los Angeles in a move that many people are now dubbing as “Mexgit.”
In addition, their public image has been shot, mostly because of their inability to follow royal protocol, as they recently filmed a short video clip of the two of them urging American to vote in the 2020 Presidential election, even though royals traditionally stay neutral when it comes to politics.
Harry and Meghan also didn’t do themselves a favor when they hired a private photographer to take photos of them walking around Los Angeles National Cemetery for the UK’s Remembrance Day.

One source close to the couple told The Sun this past weekend, “Meghan is well aware that she and Harry are no longer the golden couple. Prince William and Kate can do no wrong now as far as the UK is concerned, whereas she and Harry are seen as a self-interested couple who quit the Royal Family to pursue their own interests. Meghan hopes to turn things around and show people how committed to doing good she is, and for them to see a different, more positive side to her. Whilst this isn’t crisis management as such, given her popularity ratings right now, it’s not far off.”
If that weren’t enough, many critics have also blasted the couple for their most recent public appearance, with Piers Morgan calling it a “distasteful PR stunt.”
He said, “Just outrageous – treating Remembrance Sunday like a PR opportunity and trying to steal headlines from the real royals doing their duty back home.”
Royal biographer Ingrid Seward was also sharply critical of the move which she said demonstrated Harry is now “lost forever.”
She said: “The Sussex’s wanted it to look like they cared, which I am sure they did.”
