Prince Harry and Meghan Markle continue to make headlines, but this time for the right reasons. The couple gave back to the community by donating lunch to some veterans who were volunteering in Los Angeles to remember the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr.

British Royal Family News: Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Give Back To Veterans In Honour Of Martin Luther King Jr.

The group dubbed as ‘The Mission Continues’, aims to help veterans adjust to everyday life following their period of service. In an Instagram post shared by them, the picture below shows volunteers receiving food parcels and a note from the Royals, which read:

“We’d like to send a huge thank you to The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, along with Archewell Foundation, for fueling the volunteers of our LA Service Platoon with lunch yesterday, so they can continue their hard work at the Compton VFW and help those living in the Compton community.

“We’re truly honoured to have their support! We’re so proud of all the work you’re doing to support your community and hope you enjoy this small token of our appreciation. Thank you for your service – today and every day. We look forward to joining you soon!’ ‘Stay safe, and keep up the great work.”

But Harry and Meghan are no strangers to helping them. The Homegirl Catering ,as seen in the picture below, works with the organisation to rehabilitate former gang members, and this is where the couple volunteered last June.

By all accounts, Harry and Meghan have a close affinity to the organisation. A spokesperson for the couple said: “[They ‘connect deeply’ with the organisation’s mission (which includes resources such as counselling, education, legal assistance, addiction recovery and employment ops) and feel it’s a perfect example of how empathy, kindness, and compassion can change the world.”

Nothing could be further from the truth in light of comments received by the recipients of their help. Mariana Enriquez, who is the manager of Homegirl Cafe, went on to say: “It was remarkable to share our Feed Hope programme with Harry and Meghan. ‘They are both down to earth and kind. The staff was honoured; they took the time to see us, hear us and walk on our journey today. We will never forget it.”

It is good to see the couple getting some positive news for once. If you enjoyed reading this article, then make sure you check out our other features on the Daily Soap Dish. Please also visit TVRocker for all of the latest exciting news on all of your favourite daytime television soaps.
