Yesterday was a historic day for the British monarchy. Prince Andrew “gave up” his royal titles and was subsequently exiled from royal life.
Andrew Giving Up His Royal Titles Has Huge Future Implications For The Monarchy
While Andrew maintains that it was his decision, we all know that King Charles and Prince William made the final call before it had the chance to go to Parliament.
Sources close to the King claim that Charles really didn’t want to waste Parliament’s time. Truthfully, Andrew was facing heavy pressure from Charles and William to relinquish his titles and any royal positions he may have held.
We all know that Andrew was in deep with the late convicted sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein. The scandal was serious enough to remove Andrew’s ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson’s, Duchess of York title. Not to mention, his relationship with a Chinese spy.
Although Andrew has maintained his innocence throughout the ordeal, there is a slew of evidence and testimony, namely from his victim, Virginia Giuffre, that suggests otherwise.
Andrew’s “decision” has huge future implications for the monarchy. Now, the pressure is on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Andrew giving up his title was a long time coming. Harry and Meghan are obviously nowhere near as offensive, but the couple is guilty of trying to harm the royal family.
Titles that Andrew relinquished include Knight Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order and his Garter Role as Royal Knight Companion of the Most Noble Order of the Garter.
When William Becomes King, He May Remove Prince Harry And Meghan’s Titles
The former Duke of York admitted that his constant scandals were a major distraction from the monarchy’s good work.
Interestingly, the announcement comes just as the late Virginia Giuffre’s book is set to be released next week. Perhaps that was part of the reason the royals wanted to get the jump on it.
Andrew and Sarah were also wildly in debt, and the comparison to Harry and Meghan is hard to ignore. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are keen to exploit the monarchy for their own financial benefit. The underlying motivation is greed and a desire for bundles of money.
It’s not a good look for someone in the royal family to use the monarchy for monetary gain. Both Andrew and Sarah, and Harry and Meghan have done this.
Andrew giving up his titles could be the first step toward abolishing others who damage the monarchy, such as Harry and Meghan.
Sarah and Andrew created this situation, and it’s led them to ruin. Their association with Epstein was so infamous and widely known that even when others walked away from Epstein, Sarah and Andrew stayed in contact.
That said, the heir to the throne, Prince William, played an instrumental role in pressuring Andrew to give up his title. William has also made it clear that he’s not going to play ball with Harry when he becomes King.
Harry And Especially Meghan Use Their Titles For Monetary Gain
Charles wants a relationship with Harry and his grandkids, Archie and Lilibet. However, William has made no moves to try to reconcile with his brother. Charles doesn’t want to rock the boat. He loves his son and grandkids.
Harry and Meghan are constantly using their royal titles for commercial endeavors. Yet, we also see that at least Harry tries to do some good with his humanitarian efforts. Meghan has pretty much abandoned her humanitarian work.
All we see with Meghan is her desire to be an influencer, an entrepreneur, and a media personality. Being a royal should mean more than that. Meghan’s “do-gooder deeds” tend to revolve around making sure the press is there to photograph and document her “efforts.”
The Two Greedy Pairs Are Reminiscent Of King Edward VIII And Wallis Simpson
The truth is that the royal family let Andrew get away with his nonsense for far too long. His renunciation of his titles was the outcome of some very poor decision-making.
We have a sneaking suspicion that Andrew didn’t so much “give up” his royal titles; he was likely forced to do so. As a concession, the royal family allowed him to claim it was voluntary.
Andrew and Sarah’s, as well as Harry and Meghan’s, poor behavior also reflects that of two other disgraced royals: the former King Edward VIII and his wife, Wallis Simpson. Edward abdicated the throne in December 1936 to marry Wallis.
A huge scandal ensued. Like Harry and Meghan and Andrew and Sarah, they were exiled. Andrew may be the worst one in that he carried on a friendship with a sex offender, writing an email to Epstein in which Andrew sickeningly gushed, “We’ll play more again soon.”
The main concern with Harry and Meghan is their trashing the monarchy for monetary gain and their using their titles for commercial purposes, which goes against the late Queen’s wishes. They were warned repeatedly not to monetize the monarchy.
The question becomes: since Andrew gave up his title, should Harry and Meghan do the same? For the future of the monarchy, William may be the one to ultimately make that decision.
