Joe Rogan has responded to the Neil Young controversy and it felt weird. Recently, Neil Young gave Spotify an ultimatum… him or Rogan. Spotify stood behind their cash cow Rogan, who they obtained for $100 million and pulled him away from YouTube.
Because of who he has on his podcast and his conversations about COVID-19, it’s really rubbed some people the wrong way, including Young. However, the attempt to cancel Rogan backfired terribly and it wasn’t long before Spotify took Neil Young off their platform.
In the video below, Rogan thanks Spotify for standing with him but also apologizes for not doing enough? It’s a weird video and while Rogan has every right to talk to whoever he wants to, he thinks he needs to be better to appease the internet trolls.
Podcast Host Joe Rogan Thanks Spotify For Standing With Him Concerning Neil Young Controversy
Fans commented on the video, “Absolutely insane that he even has to explain himself. The corporate press gets a free pass despite being wrong more often.”, “I’m a Neil Young fan and always will be, but I stand with Joe in this.”, “Imagine CNN being this transparent”, “Thank you for being part of the solution. I’m very grateful to you and a handful of others who, from the beginning, have helped us all to understand what’s happening.” and “Why does he and Spotify need to put a disclaimer? Why can’t we just be fakin adults and make our own decisions?”
The results are mixed in a way, and while they’re all in support of Rogan some have called him out for trying too hard to make everyone happy, which simply isn’t going to happen.
